How we began

Our journey,
built year by year.

Six years of evidence, standardisation, industry engagement, and practical demonstration created the foundation for NC4SCM.

2021

Research Journey Began

Received an HEC research grant and initiated nationwide clay exploration, material characterisation, and laboratory testing for LC³.

2022

Standardisation Milestone

Following successful testing and validation, LC³ cement standardisation was approved in Pakistan, supporting its pathway towards practical adoption.

2023

National Industry Engagement

Organised Pakistan’s first National Workshop on LC³, bringing together representatives from the cement industry across the country.

2024

First Structural Demonstration

Constructed Pakistan’s first structural application of Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC³) at NED UET, demonstrating its practical feasibility beyond the laboratory.

2025

Global Knowledge Platform

Organised the Global Conference on Green Construction Materials and Practices (GCGC 2025) at NED UET, connecting researchers, industry professionals, and sustainability stakeholders.

2026

Establishment of NC4SCM

The journey culminated in the establishment of the National Center for Sustainable Construction Materials (NC4SCM) at NED UET, creating a dedicated platform for research, industrial implementation, and sustainable construction innovation.
